UPDATE: Witness appeal for A27 crash

Police are appealing for witnesses after a pedestrian suffered life-threatening injuries following a collision with a lorry this morning (Tuesday, May 21).

Emergency services spent several hours dealing with the incident, on the A27 Arundel Road eastbound near Swandean Hospital at Durrington, which occured at 9.35am.

The pedestrian, a 29-year-old man, has been flown by air ambulance to Southampton Hospital neurological unit where he is in a critical condition.

The lorry driver suffered shock.

The road was eventually re-opened at around 1pm.
