YOUNG dancers from a Worthing dance academy brought home more than 130 trophies from a competition at Hayling Island.
Carla Porter, principal of Premier dance academy, said: “This is such a fantastic achievement and I couldn’t be any prouder.
“We have worked so hard for this.”
More than 30 of Premier’s students aged between three and 21 attended the ‘Dancer of Dancer’ freestyle championship, where dancers must demonstrate their skills in freestyle, street/hip hop and lyrical dance.
The contest featured around 1000 dancers from across the UK, and Premier students won the overall prize in three age categories: Tiarna Blackwoood in the under-6s, Sacha Buitenhuis in the under-14s and Ashleigh Wood in the under-16s.
There were runner-up prizes for Premier’s Florence Manns in the under-12s and Emily Gander in the over-16s.
Carla Said: “We had three winners last year and it was another huge achievement this time.”
“A lot of hours an hard work went into this and I am very proud.”
The academy will next compete in the Wessex Championship in October.
