VIDEO: Boy hit by motorcycle in Durrington

A NINE-year-old boy was taken to hospital after he was hit by a motorcycle in Durrington yesterday (Monday, April 1).

The incident happened at around 2pm, in Romany Road, involving a red Suzuki motorcycle, driven by a 29-year-old man.

The boy was taken to Southampton Hospital, suffering from serious leg injuries and a slight head injury, which are not considered to be life-threatening.

The rider of the motorcycle, from Bognor Regis, was taken to Worthing Hospital suffering from a serious arm injury but has since been discharged.

Romany Road was closed until around 5pm while officers investigated the incident.

Anyone who witnessed the collision and hasn’t yet spoken to police is asked to contact Sussex Police on 101 quoting serial 0676 of 1/4.
