KITESURFER Lewis Crather, who spent a week in a medically induced coma after a serious accident, has posted a video of himself walking for the first time since the incident.

The 31-year-old former British champion, who lives in Worthing, shared the video on his public Facebook page. It can be viewed by clicking here

Lewis, who was the freestyle British champion from 2005 to 2008, was hurt while competing in the semi-finals of the Red Bull King of the Air competition at Big Bay in Blouberg, South Africa, last Sunday.

He spent almost a week in a medically induced coma, with doctors finally waking him up over the weekend.

As reported this morning, yesterday he posted an update to his Facebook page thanking people for their support. To read the Herald’s earlier story, click here
