Waleska is the creative force behind some of the paintings that have appeared on the kick-wall in the centre of the park over the past year.

She said: “I love to paint here. It is really nice to spread love to the children and parents in the park.”

Brazilian born Waleska was first invited to paint by Lara McLean from the Hive Café who had been admiring her work on Instagram.

Last summer she sprayed both sides of the kick-wall with her brightly coloured pieces, dominated by hearts, providing the park and its regulars with a real focal point.

Over the winter her paintings were gradually scribbled on and tampered with by others.

Waleska received messages from people in the area to tell her the walls had been damaged and asking her to go back to repaint them.

One side of the wall has also recently been repainted with a striking skull design by fellow Brighton Artist John Parkinson, AKA Parky Doodles.

Waleska has now spray-painted the other side in her inimitable style spreading her message of love and positive energy.
