The Armand Toussaint Second Empire bronze figures sold to a lucky telephone bidder this afternoon at Campbells, in High Street, Worthing.

The guide price was £10.000-£15,000.

The lot is part of Campbell’s monthly sale, which includes a number of pieces from the estate of a deceased local man.

A combination of paintings, furniture, Royal Worcester ceramics from the estate, as well as the bronzes, are currently being sold.

Auctioneer Paul Campbell said: “This is London quality. I am very excited and there hasn’t been a sale as good as this in Worthing before in my opinion.”
