VIDEO: Thousands flock to Brighton Half Marathon

Tens of thousands of people from across the county descended on Brighton seafront this morning as the Brighton Half Marathon began.

At 9am this morning, thousands of people swarmed the seafront as the race began, with cheers from onlookers and the friends and family of those taking part.

Brighton’s megastar DJ Norman Cook, better known as Fatboy Slim, started the race. The course is just over 13 miles, winding through the city, along the seafront and past landmarks like Brighton Pier.

Around 12.500 runners have taken part in this years’ event, with many people raising money for various charities and causes.

Now in its 27th year, the Brighton Half Marathon is one of the first major half marathons in the running calendar and is among the most popular races in the UK.
