VIDEO: Young film-makers commended for their production

YOUNG film-makers have been highly commended at a competition to celebrate the second birthday of the South Downs National Park.

Worthing Youth Media’s senior group of 14-19-year-olds produced the film, entitled “My South Downs”, at Highdown.

Although the film did not win, it was highly commended, and caught the eye of one of the judges – Downton Abbey star Hugh Bonneville.

The film was conceived and produced in its entirety by the youngsters, and reflects on the protests surrounding the Twyford Down road building 20 years ago.

Filmed in the snow, the film also incorporates original footage from the BBC archives alongside material written, filmed and edited by the young people.
