Village pub couldget protection

NORTHIAM Parish Council has nominated the Muddy Duck pub for inclusion on Rother Council’s list of Assets of Community Value.

This would give the village the opportunity to consider buying the premises should the owner decide to sell in the future.

It may also have an effect on any change of use planning application submitted for the pub.

The pub, formerly the Crown and Thistle, is a hub for village activities and serves as headquarters for the new Northiam Bonfire Society, launched last year.
