Walking bus makes headway in Barnham

Eleven eager pupils formed a special bus service calling at Barnham Primary School.

The youngsters took part in the school's first walking bus to start their days with some exercise.

The initial service on Tuesday is expected to be followed by further services on future Tuesdays.

It began from Market Close and made three stops along the half-mile or so journey to the school on Elm Grove.

The pupils wore bright yellow tabards and were a mix of ages and enjoyed a nice day for a walk.

Their parents were the first to agree to the school's requests to start the bus to cut congestion around its site as well as providing some exercise '“ and the chance for a chatter '“ for the youngsters.
