Walking races are coming to Steyning

EASTER Monday means the annual walking races through Steyning High Street.

This year, the day starts with the adult five-kilometre road race, at 10am, followed by the junior walking races for under-12s at 10.45am. The under-sevens races will then be held, and all children under 12 taking part will receive Easter eggs. Two two-kilometre races will be held from noon '“ the road run and the race walk events, both for 12 to 18-year-olds.

The adult duathlon '“ with running and cycling stages '“ starts at 1.15pm, and 2pm brings the start of the popular, senior 15-mile walking race, for individuals and relay teams, which passes through Partridge Green, Henfield and Upper Beeding.

Steyning High Street will be closed to traffic during the event, which is organised by Steyning Athletic Club.

Entry forms are available from the clubhouse in Charlton Street, Steyning.
