Bernard Jackson, 91, has been receiving a pension of just £48-a-week ever since he emigrated to Vancouver from Worthing, in 1987, with his wife Freda.

Canada is one of 120 countries where British pensions are frozen at the level they were when first taken.

Mr Jackson described the sum he receives as ‘laughable’.
