A cold and misty start gives way to a dry day with long sunny warm spells across most of Sussex today (September 27).

After a warm day with temperatures of around 17°C, cloud cover is expected this afternoon giving way to clear and chilly night.

Monday will also be dry and sunny inland but coastal areas can expect cold breezes throughout the morning.

Monday will be slightly colder with top temperatures reaching 16°C due to patchy cloud cover throughout the day.

The rest of the week is also expected to be dry and settled, with bright or sunny spells.

Coastal areas will be noticeably cooler than inland areas as easterly winds pick-up later in the week.

Conditions are expected to turn cloudier by Thursday but long range forecasts expect dry spells to remain until at least next Saturday.
