Weather for the south-east this weekend

Thousands of people are expected to flock to the coast this weekend to enjoy the warm weather.

On the roads, there are delays along the A27 at Chichester bypass westbound between B2144 Shopwhyke Road and the B2144 Oving Road (Oving Crossroads) and A286 Stockbridge Road (Stockbridge Roundabout), as people make their way to the coast.

Saturday (July 4), is set to be dry and sunny with long spells of sunshine and feeling hot across Sussex, Kent, Surrey and Essex

There should be long sunny spells, especially in the afternoon and early evening. There will be highs of 28 deg C (82 deg F).

It will stay dry throughout the night, with light winds and some long clear spells, particularly in the early hours of Sunday. On Sunday (July 5), it should remain dry with sunny spells throughout the day, with a maximum temperature of 24 deg C (75 deg F).

Outlook for the week -

Monday to Wednesday: Monday mainly dry, but with some rain possible overnight.

Tuesday rather cloudy with scattered heavy possibly thundery showers.

Wednesday breezy with a few lighter showers.
