A spokesperson for Eastbourne Borough Council said today (January 6): “Due to predicted high tides we'll be closing two floodgates in Eastbourne along the promenade between the pier and Marine Parade over the weekend.
“The gates will be closed today at 5pm prior to high tide this evening and will be re-opened on Monday morning (January 9).”
Eastbourne is in for a wet and windy weekend, but things should dry up on Monday.
