West Sussex woman dies in car crash

A WOMAN has died after the car she was driving crashed into a parked goods vehicle.

Sussex Police closed a stretch of the B2146 between Funtington and East Ashling after the fatal accident this afternoon.

The force said the woman who died was a ‘22-year-old local woman’.

Just before 2.30pm, police said a silver VW Polo saloon car crashed into a parked goods vehicle.

“The 22-year-old local woman who was driving the car was killed and the two passengers received injuries for which they have been taken to St Richard’s Hospital at Chichester and Southampton General Hospital respectively,” said Sussex Police.

“The road is closed while emergency services attend the scene and drivers are asked to avoid the area.”
