Tennis Tournament: Sadly, we have had to cancel the proposed Tennis Tournament and Barbecue, arranged for Saturday, August 8th, due to lack of support. We will hope to see you all at the annual Village Fête instead, on Saturday, August 29th. More details will be announced shortly!

The Good Companions: Hilda Aplin writes: Members of The Good Companions enjoyed a lovely meal at The Orangery, Ashburnham. It was a delightful day, weather-wise; the skies were blue and the sun shining. The setting at Ashburnham is beautiful and people were playing games by the lake and enjoying themselves; it was exceptionally busy and yet we were able to relax and enjoy our meal in the Orangery.

Our next outing on Wednesday August 26th is a visit to Herstmonceux Castle. Unfortunately on this occasion we will not be having a tour of the castle but we will be able to enjoy the gardens and of course the delicious cream teas.

Church News: Sunday 9th August, being the second Sunday of the month will see the 10.30am All Age Service held at Whatlington Church, with tea/coffee biscuits served following the service. Service length is around 45 minutes with four hymns sung and as always a warm welcome to both regular attenders and new faces. We look forward to welcoming Charmaine Hill to take this service again.
