Scott is no stranger to gigging in Brighton but has yet to venture down the coast to Worthing, until now.

He said: “I want to play places we may have overlooked in the past. I’m more for the intimate settings, getting a real connection with the audience. I would like to think people will soak up the new material and take it to their hearts.”

Home Part 1 was recorded at Scott’s home in Wolverhampton, utilising his bathroom, kitchen and his ‘shedio’ at the bottom of the garden.

“The irony of it all is it doesn’t sound like a home record. It just felt comfortable, all the pressure on your shoulders is removed,” he said.

Scott described the songs as having a ‘natural feel, pretty much along the same lines as the last album What the Night Delivers’.

Scott’s first single Elusive was released in September 2006. It received airplay from BBC Radio DJs Jo Whiley, Dermot O’Leary, and Zane Lowe, the latter of which chose the track for his single of the week and played it once each night on his show.

Elusive won the prestigious Ivor Novello award for Best Song Musically and Lyrically in 2006 beating off competition from Arctic Monkey’s and their song When the Sun Goes Down.

Past winners of the award include; Barry Gibb, David Bowie, Lou Reed, Mick Jagger and Keith Richards and John Lennon.

When it comes to song-writing Scott said the music always comes first with the lyrics ‘finding their feet’ afterwards.

“I like the fact we can mix it up a bit. They are all my babies, man, I’ve got to put them out there and do the best I can for them. People have paid good money to hear the songs. I’ve got to quite true to the arrangements.”

This year marks Scott’s tenth anniversary with Midlands based record label San Remo records – ‘great guys’ who have been ‘really supportive’.

Scott said he hoped to become more prolific with his output of recorded material and be more spontaneous during the song-writing process.
