There is a Holy Eucharist this morning (Friday) and one tomorrow, both beginning at 9.30 am in St Richard’s Church. The services will be led by the Revd Canon Howard Cocks.

The celebration of St Richard of Chichester (Patronal Festival) will be observed on Sunday 17th June at 4 pm in St Richard’s Church. There will be a Choral Evensong with Roger Marvin Director of Music playing the organ and members of St Thomas’s Choir will be supporting the event. An array of appetising refreshments will follow the service.

Icklesham Parish Council met in the New Hall on Monday 11th June and items on the agenda included the flooding at Winchelsea Beach. The Clerk and the Responsible Financial Officer (RFO) met with ward councillors, the various agencies and residents whose gardens had been flooded with contaminated water and this led to a report being made by Cllr Peter Turner about the matter. As a result the Clerk and RFO are likely to be calling a community or ward meeting to discuss the problems and seek a solution but this will not be of cost to the Parish Council.

IPC has been in contact with Rye Bay Football Club which promotes youth football at Harbour Field. Rye Bay is keen to arrange training on two evenings a week using portable floodlighting between the hours of 6 pm and 8 pm depending on the weather. The club secretary has requested the support of IPC to part fund the portable flood lighting and also plans to seek the support of residents whose homes border Harbour Field.

The date of the next Council meeting is Monday 9th July at 7.15 pm in the Memorial Hall, Icklesham.
