Witnesses to fatal Long Furlong crash sought by police

Police are appealing for witnesses following last night’s fatal collision on the A280 Long Furlong.

Two cars were involved in the incident – a silver Vauxhall Vectra and a blue Ford Fiesta – which happened just after 6.30pm.

A 20-year-old man from Worthing, died at the scene. The coroner has been informed.

The driver of the other vehicle, a 34-year-old man from Worthing, was taken to Worthing Hospital with minor injuries.

The road was closed for around five hours while officers were on the scene and police would like to thank motorists for their patience.

Sergeant Richard Hornsey said: “We would like to hear from anyone who saw the collision or the events leading up to it.

“Witnesses are asked to email [email protected] or call 101 quoting Operation Dovedale.”
