Witnesses wanted after man robbed

POLICE are appealing for witnesses to a man who was robbed in the early hours of Sunday near the David Lloyd Leisure Centre in Worthing.

A 21-year-old from Worthing was robbed as he was walking near the leisure centre at 12.45am.

The victim was walking along the alleyway which runs between Romany Road and Winterbourne Close in Durrington when he was attacked by a group of boys. They pushed him to the floor, punched him and stole his mobile, rucksack, keys, tobacco and his shoes.

Detective Constable Jane Mills said: “We believe the attackers specifically targeted the victim following a dispute between the victim and another person, however the victim does not know his attackers.

“Thankfully he was uninjured but was obviously very shaken.

“Anyone with information or saw what happened is asked to contact police on 101 quoting serial 76 of 8/12. Alternatively contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
