Woman injured after car crashes into lamppost in Worthing

A woman was taken to hospital after her car crashed into a lamppost in Worthing in the early hours.

Emergency services were called to the scene of the crash in Chapel Road at 1.15am this morning (Thursday, November 12).

Firefighters from Worthing used hydraulic rescue equipment to free the woman before she was taken to hospital by ambulance.

West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service said crews had made the scene safe shortly after 2am.
