Work starts on new Worthing breast cancer unit

SITE-clearance work has started on Worthing Hospital’s multi-million pound project to build a new state-of-the-art breast cancer screening clinic.

The centre is being built at the back of the hospital, along Park Avenue, on the site of 16 semi-detached houses which were previously used for staff and office accommodation.

By Tuesday (August 7), more than half of the homes had been levelled, as shown in this photograph taken by Brian Stephens.
