St Paul’s Arts Centre in Chapel Road, Worthing will close next month due to ‘financial limitations’.
In an official statement from chairman Doug Miles and general manager Edward Kilroy, the two announced on Facebook that the Trust is disbanding, and extended their thanks to all supporters over the last six years.
A spokesman for the centre said: “The reasons for this are mainly, but not limited to, financial limitations that are hindering the building’s safeguarding and that the current charity’s objectives caanot be met in 2016.
“We hope the centre has been a welcoming place for all who have used it.”
However, the statement also refers to the future of the centre and calls it ‘bright’.
“We may soon be able to shed more light on what is coming next,” he added.
Residents have flocked to Facebook to recommend starting a campaign in order to maintain the arts centre’s services.
The centre will close on December 19.
