WORTHING charity Link Romania urgently needs an articulated box van with a tail lift to collect shoeboxes for its Christmas appeal.
The charity needs the van for use between November 7 and 27 to collect shoeboxes from all around the UK as part of their annual Shoebox Appeal.
The charity also needs some volunteer HGV drivers for the same period.
Volunteer HGV driver, Nick Garlick said: “Someone, somewhere must have an articulated box van mothballed somewhere – and we’re hoping they’ll respond to this appeal.
“It’s a really good cause that makes such a difference to the people who receive the shoeboxes – a very worthwhile charity.”
Staunch supporter Mike Hartnett, managing director of Worthing-based MJH Executive Homes, has volunteered as one of the drivers this year.
“I am delighted to be involved with this Christian charity which rebuilds lives and communities in Eastern Europe,” he said.
“In 2010, the charity delivered a record number of shoeboxes across Romania, Bulgaria, Moldova, Albania and Ukraine.”
