This year’s theme is Cinderella and some of this year’s pantomime stars will be in attendance.

Town centre manager Sharon Clarke said: “You can’t have a Cinderella theme without having a Cinderella carriage and we are delighted to have a beautiful carriage and horses for rides up and down Montague Place, which will be closed to traffic for the day.”

The Christmas lights will be switched on from Friday, with lights on the bandstand being turned on at the end of the event at around 4pm on Saturday.

Late night shopping will be on offer during the week before Christmas.
