Worthing dancers land parts in West End show Billy Elliot

TWO talented girls have danced their way to success and landed parts in the West End musical Billy Elliot.

Jamie Spall and Lauren Thomas, who both attend Glendale Theatre Arts School in Penfold Road, Worthing, have won six-month dancing stints in the show at the Victoria Palace Theatre, London.

Lauren, 10, of Ontario Close, Durrington, who appeared in Worthing Pavilion's Honk! a few weeks ago, has already started rehearsing after being fast-tracked into the process.

Jamie, 12, who lives in Gordon Avenue, Shoreham, represented England in the world tap dance competitions last year. She had to go through a five-stage audition process to land her place in Billy Elliot.

The girls will have to dance tap, ballet and jazz routines as well as sing.
