Worthing flat catches fire

Firefighters have been dealing with a fire in a ground floor flat in Worthing this afternoon.

In total four crews have been battling the blaze on Rowlands Road, which broke out at around 4pm today, Sunday December 6.

The fire is now out and officers remain on the scene.

A spokesman for West Sussex Fire and Rescue said: “We were called at 4.02pm to a report of a fire.

“Two crews from Worthing were initially sent and two more joined them and the fire was in a ground floor flat in Rowlands Road.

“There is no reports of any injuries and the fire is now out.

“Crews are investigating the cause of the fire.”
