Calling themselves A Site for Sore Thighs, Mike Rolfe and Martin Smith set off on June 19, with the aim of cycling from Tower Bridge to the Eiffel Tower over the next four days.
The were joined on the ride by Dave Boutwood, Frank Brooks and Max Blackman, who cycled from Hastings, and providing support on route were Marina James, Sue Edmonds, Eric Rolfe, Esme Rolfe, Karen Rolfe, Sue Smith and Anna Bate.

Mike and Martin, who were born and bred in Worthing, came up with the idea at Christmas.
Martin’s wife, Sue, said: “Martin and Mike were joined on the journey through France by some friends who will had cycled from Hastings.
“A few of us travelled by car with them to provide support, first aid, mechanic skills - and, of course, moral support if the going got tough.

The riders made it to Paris last Monday evening, cycling down the Champs-Elysees and dicing with traffic on the slippery rain-covered cobbles.
