Head boy Tom Parke, 16, is going to Worthing College after achieving two A*s’ and six As.

He said: “I am really happy, I wanted a lot of As. I have really enjoyed my time here, and as head boy, it helped me with a lot of managerial skills, and organising events for Water Aid.”

She said: “It means I can do what I want at A-level and I won’t call them up in a panic! I don’t think any of us were expecting this sort of result. It means I beat my mum. We have a competition where if we beat her we all get something!”

Ava Rucklidge, 16, who achieved four A*s added: “I am shocked in a good way, because I came out of a couple of exams feeling like I had not done enough, but I have.”
