Worthing homes and businesses hit by power cut

MORE than 1,500 homes and businesses were left without electricity after a power cut hit Worthing today (March 11).

A fault on the high voltage distribution network left 1,575 homes and businesses without power at 9.38am, although power was restored to the majority of these by 10.26am.

Power was restored to all of the buildings by 12.04pm.

Andrew Drinkwater, spokesman for UK Power Networks, said: “We understand how difficult it is to be without electricity and would like to apologise for the inconvenience caused.”
