The hospital trust’s director of nursing and patient safety, Amanda Parker, has prepared a report which will give an update on actions following an NHS inquiry carried out by the Department of Health.

One of the recommendations from the ‘lessons learned’ report is that all NHS hospital trusts should develop a policy for agreeing to and managing visits by celebrities, VIPs and other official visitors.

The report includes a total of ten recommendations which apply to NHS trusts and foundation trusts.

In the trust’s agenda, it states under the ‘implications for quality of care’: “These results provide an opportunity to improve a patient’s safety by ensuring only individuals who have been screened or are accompanied have lone access to patients.”
