Worthing Hospital vows to fight infection

WORTHING Hospital is taking special measures to deal with a spate of C.difficile cases.

Since April there have been 13 reported incidents in patients at the Lyndhurst Road premises, though there have been no cases in the last 25 days.

Hospital bosses have called for new systems to deep-clean patient areas in a bid to tackle the highly contagious infection, which causes diarrhoea and colitis, an infection of the intestine.
