Worthing Library is launching a three-pronged initiative to become a central hub of the community.
West Sussex County Council is seeking public opinion on combining the library with a children and family centre and registration services.
Library manager Justin Burns said the plan was vital for keeping the library ‘relevant’, without detracting from the books, and said there are three ways to get involved.
“We see the library as a community space for everyone and we’d like to work with as many people as possible to get as many ideas as possible,” he said.
“We have an ‘idea zone’ set up at and a series of sessions where staff will be on hand if people want to talk about their ideas.
“People can jot down their ideas and put them into a suggestion box and the survey is also available online where people can fill it in and give their thoughts on the proposals.”
