Worthing man fails to appear for money laundering trial

POLICE are seeking a Worthing man who failed to appear for his trial on money laundering charges.

27-year old Tomasz Skowron, unemployed, a Polish national whose last known address was in Meredith Road, Worthing, failed to appear for trial at Chichester Crown Court on January 26 and a new date for trial was set for 5 May.

Skowron is described as white, 5’11”, of broad build, with short straight brown hair and blue eyes.

Police believe he may currently be in the Worthing or Bognor areas.

He is charged with money laundering a total of £113,796.52 obtained by fraud from several overseas companies between February and March 2012.

Agneiszka Skowron, unemployed, also a Polish national, 40, of Clarence Road, Bognor, is currently on bail awaiting trial for the same offence.

The couple are not related.

The prosecution follows an investigation by the Economic Crime Unit of Sussex Police.

A restraint order under the Proceeds of Crime Act (POCA) has been issued by the court for £74,296.52 traced by police during the investigation.
