A man has been jailed after he admitted defacing a Mark Rothko painting in London’s Tate Modern in October.
Wlodzimierz Umaniec, 26, of no fixed abode, was arrested on suspicion of criminal damage at an address in Worthing on October 7.
He initially pleaded not guilty after an appearnce at Camberwell Green Magistrates’ Court on October 10.
However, he altered his plea to guilty at his next appearance.
The case was committed to Inner London Crown Court to today (December 13), where he was jailed for two years.
