WORTHING man killed in motorbike crash

The man, who was in his 30s, was killed on the B2146 at Nursted, Hampshire, this morning shortly after 10am.

Police said he was in the company of a group of motorcyclists when he appeared to lose control of his Kawasaki bike on a corner and collided with a VW Passat and a Peugeot 405.

He died at the scene.

The road was closed to enable medical, recovery and investigative work to take place and also for repairs to be made to the road following fuel spillage.

These repairs may delay the re-opening of the road, which was still closed at 3pm.

The car drivers, a 42-year-old man and a 78-year-old man, both from Petersfield, were uninjured and treated for shock.

Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision, or who may have seen any of the vehicles involved in the area in the time leading up to the incident, to contact 0845 60 70 999 quoting Operation Shortland.
