Daniel said: “I want more people to be aware of the services that are available and teach groups that have special needs. Sometimes I go into hospitals and its great.

“Music can have a calming effect on people and does lots of things to people. Even if someone can’t play anything, they just sit and listen which is lovely. I have some instruments they can attach to wheelchairs. It makes them feel like they are part of a group. Its a great job and I won an award which was a bonus. I wasn’t expecting it, but its nice to be recognised.”

Daniel was given his award on March 18 at the awards which were held at Worthing Pier.

He added: “When I won, I was just really happy and really excited, and I wasn’t expecting it at all. I was really proud, it is a great achievement, and its just nice. It is a fantastic feeling, helping lives, and I want to keep doing more of this.”
