Worthing personal trainer's sub-zero charity hike

A WORTHING personal trainer is swapping the gym for the frozen wilderness in a bid to raise money for charity.

Jason Howard, of Infinite Fitness, will travel to Sweden to survive temperatures as low as -30C.

For the week-long trip, starting on January 9 next year, he will be faced with no central heating, no running water and not even a bed.

Survival challenges will include building shelters to live in, boiling snow for drinking water and trying to light fires without any matches.

Jason hopes to raise 2,500 for Southern FM's Help a Local Child appeal.

The charity helps local people by giving money to various local projects, including Worthing's Women's Aid.

Jason said: "It's great that the money raised will be used in Sussex for the benefit of local communities".
