Worthing Race for Life

WOMEN from in and around Worthing have jumped at the chance to take part in Cancer Research UK's Race for Life.

The race, which is being held at Worthing Ruby Club on July 22, is already full up '“ one of the first in the country to close to entrants.

Race for Life, supported by Tesco and backed locally by the Herald as the official media partner, is a national series of 5km walks or runs for women which is being held across the UK this summer.

The race at Worthing Rugby Club, in Angmering, closed in just six weeks with 2,000 women having registered to take part.

Worthing Race for Life organiser Carly Gibbs said: "I'm delighted by the response of Worthing's women this year and absolutely thrilled that the event here has filled in record time.

"I now urge every woman that has got a place to get going with their fundraising so we can also smash our target of 145,000 as it is so important to saving lives and funding the vital work of Cancer Research UK."
