Deano Boroczky, 27, started singing two years ago after being encouraged by his mum and sister to sing on an open mic in Worthing town centre.

Deano, of Northcourt Road, said: “I’ve always sang. In fact, when I was younger, I couldn’t stop.

“They had an open night mic at The Smugglers pub, and talent scouts were there from the show.

“I was a bit reluctant as I didn’t see myself as anything special and didn’t want to embarrass myself on national TV but you only have one life and if I’ve learnt anything the past few years it is to grab every opportunity with both hands.”

He now wants to be a role model to his daughter Mya, seven, and build the best future for her.

“She loves watching me sing and when she watches me live will always cry,” he said.

“Like any parent you want to make your kids proud and be a good role model for them. She will be on the video on Saturday night, waving and supporting me,”

He also thanked his mum, adding: “My mum is my number one fan. She’s supported me through thick and thin, and I couldn’t have done this without her.

“I appeared on a Channel 4 show called The Singer Takes It All with Alan Carr a couple of years ago. They asked me to wear an outrageous outfit and when I walked out on the stage I just fell apart and went straight out of the show.

“That really knocked my confidence but my Mum really helped me through it and get where I am now.”
