Worthing store manager put in the stocks for charity
Customers at the Plaza Parade Co-op were so keen to see the manager put in the stocks, they paid good money for it.
Keen to support the Worthing soup kitchen, run by Jubilee Community Church, people were quick to put their hands in the pockets for the fun entertainment.
After a few weeks of collecting, the store was ready for the big day in Rowlands Road, Worthing, complete with stocks and wet sponges.
Stuart Hunt, manager, said: “We held the event with store colleagues in the stocks and in fancy dress and with soup kitchen volunteers, who had a bric-a-brac sale.
“Altogether we raised £600 for this great local cause.”
