Isobel Mills, 19, a trainee sales negotiator, of Offington Avenue, Worthing, entered the TV programme in March and dated Brad Simpson, lead vocalist of UK pop rock band, The Vamps.

Channel 4 responded to Miss Mills within one week of her application and did not inform her that they were putting on the “special” celebrity series - which aired last Friday (July 22) and instead Miss Mills thought she was entering the usual ‘First Dates’ programme - which she regularly watched.

Miss Mills was quizzed by Channel 4 on her interests beforehand, in order to find her the ‘perfect’ matched celebrity and when she entered a restaurant in Shoreditch, London - she was shocked to see the Vamps star waiting for her.

She said: “I recognised him straight away and I was really happy it was him - because I knew we would have a lot to talk about, having similar interests.

“We got on so well and there were none of those awkward silences!

“He was very down to earth and a real gentleman - I couldn’t have had a better date.”

The trainee sales negotiator, of Robert Luff & Co Estate Agents, in Worthing was ecstatic to be chosen by Channel 4 and was excited to find a possible match.

Having previously studied Performing Arts at Chichester College, with a passion for singing, she said she doesn’t have a particular preference in guys – as long as they’re not a ‘bad boy’ and they can make her laugh.

Since landing the date, Miss Mills has become a popular local celebrity, with over 5,000 followers on Instagram and over 3,000 on Twitter.

She has also received a swarm of fan mail and has been spotted by fans at work and at Asda supermarket.

Since the programme, she has had a second date with the 20-year-old pop star, who has 1.6 million Twitter followers - where they spent a day sightseeing in London and rode Boris Bikes around the city.

The pop star, who has played in front of 90,000 people at Wembley Arena confessed he was more scared to go on a date than going out in front of a crowd and rated his date with Miss Mills as a ten out of ten.

The pair are set to meet for a third date in August - as the Vamps star has just finished his world tour.

Miss Mills added: “We both have busy schedules but I can’t wait to meet up with him again and see how things go - everything happens for a reason.”
