Worthing woman rescued from home via roof

Firefighters had to stretcher a woman out of her home through a skylight in her roof after she fell over in her loft.

They were called to Goldsmith Road, Worthing, at around 7am today (Monday, October 22) when they used the Velux window as a way of getting to the injured lady.

The woman, in her 30s, was said to have suffered injuries to her pelvis, and firefighters said it was easier to rescue her through the roof than try to carry her downstairs.

She was taken to Worthing Hospital for treatment.
