Jessica Morrod, 35, was taken aback when life model Matthew Oghene whipped out his tape measure and sized up her broad shoulders during filming for hit Channel Four programme, The Undateables.

Stammer sufferer Matthew yearned for a Nigella Lawson-like beau but was specifically looking for a woman with 16-inch-wide shouders.

Speaking after the episode aired on Monday, Jessica, of West Worthing, said: “It was one of the most unusual dates I have been on, particularly when he pulled out the tape measure.

“Initially, I was quite thrown by it but I didn’t mind and my reaction was totally genuine. Afterwards, I kind of thought ‘what was that about’ because I didn’t know any of the back story.”

The show follows a number of individuals who have struggled to find love, often through confidence issues relating to their conditions or disabilities.

Business coach Jessica was spotted by researchers while walking in Islington last year and after a series of interviews, was introduced to Matthew on camera in October.

The pair hit it off immediately and are still happily together.
