Worthing’s Tide of Light gets underway

DESPITE miserable weather the popular Worthing Tide of Light is getting underway with fireworks promised later in the evening (November 5).

The fun fair kicked off at 3pm on the prom followed by lantern making at the Pavilion Theatre from 3.30pm.

People started assembling for the parade at 5.30pm and set off at 5.45pm. They were forewarned to wrap up warm and come armed with lanterns.

The event is run by the Lions International Club, raising funds for local causes.

The event is now in its third year after launching in 2013.

Fireworks from the end of the pier are at 8pm and the town centre will be awash with street food and live music all night through to 10.30pm.
