Young footy fan has sleepover with the FA Cup

Will Strachan’s parents, Clive and Penny, entered him into the The FA Cup Dreams competition for the opportunity to have a sleepover with the famous trophy.

Brighton & Hove Albion fan Will said: “It was awesome. I had lots of friends round and they thought it was really cool.”

Penny, of Ilex Way, Goring, added: “What a truly fantastic surprise. We never thought for a million years we would win after entering the competition but we did.

“Having this famous trophy in our own home for the night was truly magical, a once-in-a-lifetime experience that we’ll always remember. There were a lot of grown men whose dreams came true that night.”

The FA Cup Dreams initiative was launched by FA Cup winner and former England star Michael Owen this season.

Prizes include winning a sleepover with The FA Cup, lifting the trophy in front of your own fans and meeting your footballing heroes.

The competition is open for under 12s up until the FA Cup final at Wembley Stadium on May 17.
