Phoebe Brookman, six, of Radnor Road, Tarring, won Splash FM’s 60 Second Superstars on Hallowe’en and was a Park Resorts nationals finalist on Monday. Earlier this year, she was crowned the winner in the Tarring’s Got Talent under 11’s category.

Phoebe’s mum, Miranda Brookman, 41, said: “We are so proud of her. She spends all her time singing.

“This is the first year she’s entered competitions and she’s been massively successful.

“She wants to be in musicals, she’s obsessed with musicals.”

Phoebe said singing made her feel joyful and happy inside and that when she grew up she wanted to be like her ‘amazing’ sister, Bryony.

Her favourite songs are by One Direction.

Bryony, 14, is a member of The Luvettes – a three-part harmony band.

She has performed at the o2 Arena in London and has won various competitions, including The Dream Factor judged by hit girl group Stooshe.

“I think Phoebe would love to be like her sister,” said Miranda. “They are very close.”

Despite being just six, Phoebe performed her first paid gig this year at the New Sussex Hotel in Lancing.

After performing four songs, two with Bryony and two on her own, the hotel owner gave her a receipt and a £10 note.

Miranda said: “He was so impressed. Phoebe was so touched, she was like ‘mummy, look’.”

Phoebe will shortly be taking a grade one vocal exam.
