AS Broadwater councillors, we welcome wholeheartedly the proposed move by Worthing College to the old Aviva site and the excellent prospects it will give to the young people of our town.
The college is to be congratulated on both its innovative move and foresight.
Where we do have concerns is the one expressed by many of our Broadwater residents in the provision for crossing the A27 at the Grove Lodge roundabout.
The plan is to have two or perhaps three toucan crossings across this busy trunk road.
We do not think this will suffice to ensure the safety of the students and feel there is a need for either a footbridge or underpass to be constructed before the college is open for business.
To that end, we are offering to work with the college to find a way to accomplish this important end.
