THE Upper Brighton Road, Warren Road and Arundel Road are the gateways into Worthing – but have you seen them lately?
The grass verges haven’t been mown in months and grass and weeds are now three to four feet high and rising.
The Warren roundabout is an absolute disgrace.
The A27 is the responsibility of the Highways Agency (Government) to maintain – doesn’t that say everything?
Contrast the mowing along all the other roads and public spaces in Worthing, which, despite the recession and appalling weather, our local councils manage to keep looking mown and tidy.
Isn’t it about time Worthing council took matters into its own hands, got the A27 verges mown and sued the Government for the work? In the full fanfare of publicity, of course.
Incidentally, the A27 around Arundel doesn’t look half as bad. I wonder why? Perhaps the proximity of a very high-profile resident may have something to do with it!
